The former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode is yet to clear his name from money laundering charges.
According to the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos that held yesterday Feb. 10, the court has ruled that the former Minister of Aviation,must account to the 40 counts of money laundering and financial misappropriation charges filed against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in transactions of over N500 million during his tenure at both the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Minister of Culture and Tourism.
The prosecuting counsel, Mr Festus Keyamo objected by submitting that the very essence of a crime of money laundering is that the money has no origin and its source cannot be explained.
While Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia agreed that all charges were in order, thus Mr Femi Fani-Kayode will be Re-arraigned next month March 5th, 2014 .
