To my best of knowledge, you can rightfully call someone your in-law if you are engaged or married to their daughter or sister. The last time Mikel Obi was slammed after rumors of his engagement to his Russian girlfriend which he denied. Just few hours ago he uploaded the photo above of his girlfriend together with her father and brother with the caption "inlaws"... Ladies with high hopes, it seems all your hopes are about to be crushed....Lol
