Popular singer of 80s Stella Monye is down with lungs and emphysema infection. A disease caused by lot of mucus that accumulates in the lungs resulting from prolonged untreated lung cancer.
She was one of those singers that started with the late Christy Essien, King Sunny Ade, Onyeka Onwenu and others in the 80’s before fading off from music.
According to reports, Stella Monye have been secretly battling with the problem since 2008 but she was administering self-medications until it grew worse of recent due to improper treatment.

 The singer who currently lives in a rented apartment in Abule Egba, Lagos, is trying to raise money from friends and family for the surgery and drugs and selling off her property she acquired three years ago to raise fund for her treatment.

It is reported that the single mother of one has been a chain smoker for a larger part of her life.
