“They inserted pepper in our private parts”- One Of The Ejigbo Tortured Victim Narrates Her Sad Story

We saw the video clip circulating last year but we never got to hear the full story behind the video clip. Up till today, the perpetrators of the wicked act have not been arrested.
One of the women, Juliana Agoma, died as a result of the brutal assault by the men who were reportedly members of the local vigilante group and market officials.

A 13-year-old girl, the half-sister of the one who died, spoke to the Federal Special Anti- Robbery Squad (FSARS), Adeniji Adele, Lagos State, Annex Headquarters, on Tuesday, narrating the sad tale of how her sister and mother were tortured, stripped and had pepper inserted inserted into their private part.

She said Agoma was accused of stealing pepper but was not given an opportunity to explain before she was tortured.
The market officials who had asked her father to pay a fine of N50,000 threatened that unless her father parts with the money, they would behead her mother in their presence. Even while they pleaded with the officials to wait for their father's return, they fell on deaf ears. Without much waiting they took her and her half-sister, Juliana Agoma away from their residence to the Oba Morufu International Market and demanded to know the whereabouts of her mother and father. And on sighting their mother, they began to land slaps on her.
Their father made a part payment of  N20,000 out of N50,000 demanded and he was still pleading but they kept beating them and threatened to deal with her father. They then stripped her, her mother and half sister off their clothes and tortured them.
According to her, some of the men inserted their fingers in their private parts while their father watched helplessly in tears, adding that as if that was not enough, they inserted pepper in their private parts.

12 suspects connected to this devilish act have been arrested and paraded but the main suspects are yet to be arrested. Anyone who has information on their whereabouts should please contact the nearest police around you.
