What Nonsence! Women In Nnewi To pay Fine Of N50,000 If Caught Wearing Trouser

What state of insanity is this?. When has wearing trouser for women become a crime that a fine must be paid if caught?... Funny right?.

Akwaihedi community in Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State has passed a law against women wearing trousers.  Any lady caught including female youth Corps will pay the sum of N50,000 or face banishment from the land.

According to an eye witness, a female youth Corp was almost stripped naked if not for the intervention of someyouths in the community. 
 Another corps member, Grace Uduak, said she was shocked when the ruler slammed her for wearing the NYSC uniform.

Another source, who preferred anonymity, alleged that 10 people had been fined by the community court.
 The source said the situation was serious because policemen were not allowed to enter the community, as the monarch said the traditional court would handle domestic issues.
The law promulgated by the Igwe and the president-general of the town union, stipulated that no woman should wear trousers.

A correspondent of The Nation, who spoke with the traditional ruler of the community, Lt.-Col. Wisdom Onebunne (rtd), claimed that the matter had been resolved and refused to go into further details.
