Ex-Custom Officer Commits Suicide In Abia

 A retired Custom officer, Mr. Eke Nweke, a native of Item in Bende LGA shot himself dead with a locally made pistol at the Ngwaiyiekwe Community in Abia State.  Mr. Eke was said to have made a first attempt of committing suicide while in Port Harcourt, before he was relocated to his in-law’s town, where he finally committed another suicide that ended his life.


 According to reports, he left his house in the early hours of the morning with the locally made pistol and shot himself before they could wake up in the morning. The deceased, who was described as an easy-going man did not leave a suicide note or disclose any matter troubling him which may have led him into committing suicide.
The locally made pistol was handed over to Ugwunagbo Police Station who are said to be investigating the incident.
