First Photo Of Sudanese Woman And Her Husband Hours After Her Release Yesterday

The 27-year-old Sudanese woman who was sentence to death for Apostasy was released from prison in Sudan on Monday. Following an international out cry and pressure, a Sudanese Supreme Court ordered her immediate release yesterday June 23rd.

The mother-of-two is seen holding her baby daughter Maya who was born in prison. On her right is her husband Daniel Wani, holding on their son Martin, 21 months and  a Christian American citizen on the left.

The photo was taken at the safe house where Meriam is now hiding out. Tine Ramirez of Hardwired added that there will be a meeting on Tuesday between Meriam's lawyers and officials at the U.S. embassy in Sudan to discuss a potential move to America
