Photos From Justice Oputa's Memorial Service

The memorial service of late former Chief Justice Chukwudifu Oputa took place on Wed. June 21st at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Abuja. Mr. Justice Oputa died on Sunday May 4th, after a protracted illness at the age of 89.
According to eyewitnesses, the event almost turned out like it was a political rally with members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Governor Rochas Okorocha, Members of the state executive council all present at the event. It was said that Charly Boy seeing how things were turning out, walked out from the venue and ordered his aides, security and cameramen inside the hall to follow him immediately.

Things went bad when supporters of the governor and other members of the APC in the state had besieged the venue hours before the arrival of the state governor, dancing and singing as they awaited the governor. Charly Boy, it was learnt, was said to have been angered by the seeming political rally which the lying-in-state could lead to owing to the dimension to which it was heading.
