After 41 days of his trial which began in March, today the judge cleared Oscar Pistorius of murdering his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.
Oscar was accused of shooting the 30-year-old model during a furious row at his Pretoria home on Valentine's Day last year. But he maintained during the trail that he shot his girlfriend in self-defence after mistaking her for an intruder.
The judge after going through all evidences tendered from the witnesses, said there were not enough facts to prove the most serious charge of pre-meditated murder against the athlete.
Thokozile Masipa, said that the evidences failed to establish he had the intention to kill the deceased. The state has not proved beyond reasonable doubt that he is guilty of premeditated murder . Therefore he has being discharged of murder case but but still waits to hear if he is guilty of the manslaughter .
