Nigerian Couple Who Were Charged To Court Over Using Juju For Human Trafficking In Britain, Found Guilty

 
In September, Lizzy Idahosa and her husband Jackson Omoruyi were charged to court over using juju to force two Nigerian women into prostitution in Britain. After many rounds of trail sections, the jury has found them guilty of human trafficking and forcing their victims into prostitution by making them eat snakes.


Lizzy Idahosa, 24, and her husband Jackson Omoruyi, 41, were said to have made more than £70,000 out of the women, after she made them see witch doctor who made them take oat. Lizzy Idahosa was charged of trafficking the women, inciting them to become prostitutes and transferring criminal property, while her husband Omoruyi was found guilty of money laundering.

 During the court session, the victims confessed on how Lizzy had their pubic hair shaved and forced to eat live snakes and snails as part of the ritual, and then flown to Britain in the belief that they were going to find a better life. On getting to Britain, they were forced into prostitution.

The whole case came to light after one of the victims who is 23 years old was arrested by police in a brothel in Cardiff, in June 2013. There she narrated to the officers her ordeal since she came to Britain, she confessed to sleeping with 7 to 8 men in a day. She claimed to have paid her madam, Lizzy £45,000.

Meanwhile the second victim who is 29 years old also told the court that had paid the Mrs Idaoha £31,400 over two years after working in brothels in Cardiff, Swansea, Barking and East Croydon, and said she had worked in South Wales for a year and eight months.
Mrs Idahosa told the court she was not guilty because she never forced the girls into taking part in the ritual and she was also trafficked into Britain for prostitution. And during her time she was forced to eat the roast heart of a cockerel.
