Read Why Google Shut Down Linda Ikeji's Blog
This has really shocked a lot of people after Google shut down one of the most visited blog "Linda Ikeji's blog". I made research from people and read more about Linda opening a new website but believe me it's not going to be the same especially when it comes to rank on Alex, she was number 10 on Alex.com, that means starting all over again.
For new bloggers like me I have learned a lot from this and hoping to be better from now on with my blogging. For other bloggers too I hope this will be a lesson too to all. Give credit to whom honor is due to. If you copy and paste, give credits. I heard Linda is not taking this like anything and yeah, she will be back and stronger.
These whole saga started after a man called Aye on twitter and some group of people threatened to bring down Linda's blog for alleged plagiarism. Well According to what Mr Kolade-Ogunlade said when contacted by Punch, it has nothing to do with witch hunting, it's all about following the normal policy of Google. Copyright is a crime and people need to respect the rights of others.
Read what he said below...
To respect the rights of copyright holders, Google clearly spells out how users of its products and services can get permission to use someone else’s intellectual property such as text, songs, images and footages.
The search giant, he added, was no respecter of anybody when it came to the issues of copyright infringement, adding that “copyright is a big deal.”
“Google as an organisation takes issues of copyright seriously and belongs to a group of digital companies that respect copyrights.
“Copyright is a big deal and this is why you can’t just go and pick up another person’s intellectual property or content and lay claim to its ownership.
“That is why we have copyright guidance. I don’t know if Linda picked up any content and I don’t know what content is the bone of contention-neither have I looked into the complaints personally.
“Let’s respect other people’s rights and intellectual property. Making money off other people’s content without permission is wrong.
“Whenever owners of online contents come after you accusing you of using their content, it is because they have families to feed and businesses to sustain.

Popular Nigerian blog, Lindaikeji.blogspot.com has been deleted. The popular Nigerian blogger has been having a battle with one Mr. Aye Dee who accused her of stealing his content without permission nor giving credit. According to Mr. Aye Dee, Linda Ikeji has stolen his content several times and each time he tries to contact her to credit him or remove his content from her blog, Linda never replies nor take any action.
Yesterday, Linda Ikeji dedicated a post to Mr. Aye Dee who she said was jealous of her and has been cyber-squatting on her names as she claims he’s the owner lindaikeji.net. According to the popular Nigerian blogger, Mr. Aye Dee and his accomplice has been trying to hack and spam her site for a while now. She also said they have been sending her all kinds of emails where they promised to bring down her blog.
While Google does not play with plagiarism and accusations on infringement on intellectual content, hosting her website on Google’s free server with a free blogspot name made it easy for the search engine giant to take down the Lindaikeji’s blog as it is their property.
Last month, Linda Ikeji bought a new Range Rover that she claimed cost about ₦24 million (that’s about £90,000.00 or €115,000.00). According to most people, flaunting her newly acquired car is the reason her enemies are coming after her and trying to pull her down.
Linda Ikeji has used Twitter to assure her followers and blog visitors that her website is still reachable on lindaikeji.mobi. She encouraged them to continue reading news from her mobile website while she works on relaunching her website.
She also made another tweet where she thanked all her supporters for all the love and support they have given her since her blog was deleted. She said she was overwhelmed and making every effort to get a new site and that they should bear with her.
Wow, I have been missing, so they later got this girl?, eeyaa I pray she bounce back again~Jady
Please kamify blog Becareful because i love reading from ur blog and keep the good work going.as for Linda Ikeji i wish her all the best
@Oge thanks so much, I am trying to move onto my own website will let you know all know when I'm done. I have learned a lot too.
Maybe Linda should start suing other people that copy from her blog without giving credits to all. Let's be honest, it all about her brand new SUV that caused all this. Why don't they report other bloggers that do copy and paste?. My 2cent.
Abeg enough of this Linda story.
