Pastor Of Evidence Of The Gospel Church Shot Dead By Armed Robbers In Edo

The head pastor of Evidence of the Gospel Church, Oko Central branch, Godfrey Agbonwaneten, was shot dead on Tuesday by gunmen at his residence in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State.
According to reports, the gunmen went robbing around his area then later burgled into the pastor's home while the victim and his wife were asleep.

The deceased wife, Juliet who narrated the incident said it happened around 2;30am when her husband woke her up from sleep to inform her that robbers were operating around their street, unknown to her they were already making entrance into their residence.

She said, “the next thing we hear was that they were breaking our window. I didn’t know when my husband went to the room and I hear gunshot. I rushed to the room and saw my husband covered with blood.” Meanwhile, the body has been deposited at the mortuary.
