Former Nigerian Athlete, Ambrose Monye Gets Life Imprisonment In South Africa For Murder

 Former Nigerian Olympic athlete, Ambrose Monye, has been sentenced to life in prison in South Africa for the murder of 26 year old Channelle Henning. Monye, who participated in the Souelle Olympic game in 1988

Ambrose is accused of killing Henning in her car, shortly after dropping off her son at a crèche in Faerie Glen, in the east of Pretoria, on November 8, 2011.

Husband of deceased and son
He and his accomplice, Andre Gouws, who was also sentenced to life in prison, were contracted to kill the woman by her estranged husband.

According to Andre Gouws revelation, Channelle and her husband, Nick have been on a custody battle over their son .
Nick decided to do things his way to have his son all to himself. He then hired Andre Gouws to carry out the job. He agreed to pay the sum of R1million if job was done successfully.Andre then contacted Monye to help him with the job and promised to give him R50,000. Ambrose Monye contacted Pike and Doepie to help him do the job.

He followed Andre on his bike to show them the deceased's house. both men (Pike and Doepie) are serving 18-year jail terms.

Monye told the court yesterday that he was ashamed of what he did and regret to have been part of it.Ambrose before his arrest works in a security firm in South Africa. Andre Gouws was also sentenced to life imprisonment.
